Tourism in West Singhbhum District is famed for its picturesque natural beauty and well known religious centres. A number of villages are situated in the district which serves to attract people from far off places. The places are also known as popular picnic spots owing to the scenic beauty they possess.

Bidri
Bidri is a village situated in Manjhari Block. On the east of the village a hillock stands whereas a small lake is located at the outskirts. On the west of the lake, there is a forest Dak Bungalow which provides an enchanting scenic beauty. At a distance of about 6 kilometres, the famous Thakora waterfall is located.

Chainpur
Chainpur is another village in Chakradharpur block. It is famed for housing a Lord Shiva Temple. On the occasions of Chaitra Sankranti and Shiva Chaturdasi, grand fairs are organized every year in the village.

Hirni
Hirni village is located on the Ranchi-Chaibasa road at about 40 kilometres from Chakradharpur in the north. The place is a famous picnic spot and hosts an amazing waterfall amidst the dense forest.

Jagannathpur
Jagannathpur is also a village situated at a distance of 45 kilometres in the South-West of Chaibasa. It is the headquarters of the development block having the same name. The name of the village has been derived from its founder Raja Jagannath Singh of Porahat. An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also present in the village.

Jojohatu
Jojohatu village is at about 22 kilometres from Chaibasa in its west. Embraced by forests, the village is known for its iron ore mine and chromites deposits.

Kera
Kera village is at Chakradharpur, situated in the north east of the block headquarters. It is famous for its grand three day fair organized every year at the occasion of Chaitra-Sankranti. Bhagwati temple of this village attracts a number of tourist and devotees.

Kotgarh
Kotgarh is in Jagannathpur block. It is believed that several powerful rulers who, about a century ago, ruled the areas of Chakradharpur, Manjhgaon, Manjhari and Jagannathpur.

Lupungutu
Lupungutu is another village near Chaibasa town. It is a popular picnic spot and houses a perennial natural spring.

Mahadebsal
Mahadebsal is located at a distance of 5 kilometres from Goilkera. It is famed for a temple of Lord Mahadev where as grand fair is organized during Shivratri every year.

Ponga
Ponga village is near Chakradharpur. It houses a temple of Pauri Devi. It is also famous for the ruins of a place called "Mangarh" which is traditionally associated with Raja Man Singh, a Sorag by caste.

Porahat
Porahat village was the headquarters of former Porahat Raj which stretched over a large part of the district.

Ramtirtha
Ramtirtha in Jagannathpur block is popular for its large fair organized every year on the day of Makar Sankranti. It is also famous for a waterfall on the Baitarni River and a Shiva Temple. Local myth says that Lord Rama crossed Baitarni River on the day of Makar Sankranti for which the fair is held.

Tholkobad
Tholkobad village lies near the block headquarter of Manoharpur. Situated at an elevation of 1800 ft, the village is enwrapped with forest. The oldest Sal tree with a perimeter of 25 feet, known as Saranda Queen, is present here. The place attracts a plethora of tourists.

Benisagar
Benisagar lies at the border of West Singhbhum District and Orissa. The place derives its name from king Beni and houses several archaeological findings.

A number of temples in West Singhbhum District attract several devotees and pilgrims. Many of these sites are associated with myths and legends. Fairs and festivals are celebrated in these areas with immense vigour which allures a number of tourists.
