Some of the important tourist attractions in Igatpuri are Bhatsa River Valley, Arthur Lake, Kalsubai Peak, Amruteshwar Temple, Ghatandevi Temple and many other important destinations in this region which are of worth visiting. Kalsubai Peak is an ideal place for adventure trekking.

Tourism is the most significant segment of the economy of this region in Maharashtra after Lavasa, Lonavala and Khandla.

Bhatsa River Valley
Bhatsa River valley is situated at the end of the Thal Ghat, just before entering Igatpuri from Mumbai. This river valley is an ideal picnic destination, situated about 50 km from the city of Igatpuri. The valley lies in the basin of the majestic Bhatsa River. The valley is a picturesque spot with lush green vegetation and majestic rocks formed by the river that runs through it.

Arthur Lake
A few km from Igatpuri region, Aurthur Lake lies in a huge and placid area. Arthur Lake is set like a huge jewel amidst the dense greenery. The lake is formed by the waters of the Pravara River in the Bhandardara region.

Kalsubai Peak
Kalsubai Peak is located about 35 km from Igatpuri. Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak in the Sahyadri ranges of Western India or the Western Ghats Mountain Range in India. Kalsubai Peak is the ideal location for trekking, hiking and motorbike riding in the midst of grey but cool ambience.

Amruteshwar Temple
Amruteshwar Temple was built in 11th century AD. Amruteshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva or Mahadeva. Amruteshwar Temple was constructed in a distinct Hemadpanti style. The temple is surrounded by lush green fields and Mount Kalsubai the highest mountain range in Maharashtra. From here a further excursion leads to the Ratangad Fort. One can access this temple by road or an 8 km boat ride on Arthur Lake.

Tourism in Igatpuri Dhamma Giri Meditation Centre
Dhamma Giri Meditation Centre was founded by S.N.Goenka, Dhammagiri is a math which offers courses in Vipassana Meditation (insight meditation). Vipassana Meditation is a technique taught by the Gautama Buddha at about 2,500 years ago. There is a large Golden Pagoda, the central theme of Dhammagiri serves as a landmark for Igatpuri. The math attracts lots of peace finding people from various parts of Western and Southern India as well as abroad.

Ghatandevi Temple
Ghatandevi Temple is located just ahead of Igatpuri. It is located just after crossing the camel Valley. It comes across a small road, which leads to the Ghatandevi temple. According to the Hindu mythology, Ghatandevi is the Protector of Western Ghats. The mountains of Durrar Utvad, Trimak and Harihar form a spectacular backdrop. Just behind the Ghatandevi Temple lies the Tringalwadi Fort, this is one of the most famous medieval forts in Maharashtra.

Tringalwadi Fort
Tringalwadi Fort is situated at an altitude of 3,000 feet above the sea level. Since it is located very high, the fort offers picturesque scenery of the whole locality, especially Kulang and Kalsubai mountain ranges. The fort attracts trekkers also. The top of the fort is shaped like a Turban. A temple dedicated to lord Hanuman is nearby. An architectural marvel, the fort can be accessed through a narrow pathway, down to the Tringalwadi Lake. It is situated about 6 km Igatpuri. Just a few km away from Tringalwadi Lake is Talegaon Lake formed by the small Talegaon Dam.

Camel Valley
A few metres away from Bhatsa river Valley on the right is the camel valley. On the other side of the valley is a waterfall formed by the rain waters and one have to walk over and look down to find a slop that falls over 1, 000 ft. The waterfall is the chief attraction of this place.

Five Waterfalls
Five Waterfalls is located just a little further from Ghatandevi Temple. The rough road leading to the railway line begins. Across the railway line, while climbing down, falling one below the other, are five waterfalls that form which are main attraction for tourists in Igatpuri.
