Toranmal, located in Maharashtra, is a hill station which attracts tourists rounds the year. It is situated in the municipal council of the Nandurbar district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The place can be easily reached through Shahada. It is actually a hill station which is nestled in the Satpura Range. Its Gorakhnath Temple is the site of a Yatra attended by thousands of devotees on Mahashivratri. On that juncture pilgrims walk barefoot for days from adjacent areas in the Nandurbar district but also from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Toranmal is placed at the height of 1,150 metres (3,770 feet) above mean sea level. The place is situated at an altitude of 1461 metres; and is conceivably one of the most serene places on earth. Toranmal falls in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra, surrounded by Satpuda hills. Toranmal is flanked by the 7 hills of the Satpuda Range, and nestles among varieties of fauna and flora. It is one of those uncommon places that are not packed with many people but every visitor who flock the place is touched deeply by the natural beauty of the place.
Toranmal has narrow lanes, fanned by thick woods and has striking lakes and old temples. Yashvant Lake is visited my many every year. It is a natural lake and offers breathtaking views of the hills. The Goraknath and Nagarjun Temple are thronged by thousands of devotes pilgrims. The grand fair of Maha Shivratri takes place in front of Goraknath temple every year from March to April. This fair attracts hundreds of people every year. People from different states also visit this fair.
Khadki Point, Machindara Gumpha which is a natural lake, Sunset Point and Kamal Talao or the Lotus Lake is also blessed with magnificent scenic beauty.
