Times Now, Indian News ChannelTimes Now, an Indian News channel was launched in early 2006, was one of the biggest joint ventures that took place between Times Global Broadcasting Co. Ltd., a Bennett, Coleman & Co and Reuter`s service. By launching this new channel efforts have been made to expand the spectrum of news from every corner of India which includes current affairs as well as news regarding entertainment. As one of the biggest joint ventures between Times Global Broadcasting Co. Ltd., a Bennett, Coleman & Co and Reuter`s service, Times Now operates out of its dual centres at Mumbai and Delhi and has bureaus in all major locations across India, complemented by the news gathering teams of The Times of India and The Economic Times, in India and globally by Reuters.

Times now since its launching faced a lot of challenges from other 24 hours news channels which made its progress a bit slow. However, after exposure to English-speaking crowd and in conjunction with creative methods, it has become popular with the wide ranging public. The ratings are increasing and the popularity is growing by the day. The channel aims at providing the urban viewers the complete picture of the news that is relevant, presented in a vivid and insightful manner, which enables them to widen their horizons and stay ahead. Times Now, Indian News ChannelIt airs programmes like Frankly Speaking, All about Her, The News Times Now Hour, Reuters World Report, News Now Overnight and the like. Only recently in the year 2007 has Times Now emerged as the as the top English news channel.

Along with its most popular programmes, the channel carried out a series of innovations to strengthen its content, which dramatically changed the look and feel of the channel and introduced as many as seven new shows in one sweep. Since then the channel has been on a rising spree. More innovations and more new programmes are being planned to be launched by the channel by the end of the year 2007. Further this channel in 2008 expanded its purview by launching two more channels in association with Star news. These are Zoom and ET Now in collaboration with Star TV which is the biggest broadcasting distributor all over the world. This gave Times now a larger scenario which covers every sphere of life. This is largely visible with the popular programmes like Total recall, Times drive, The News hours, The morning show, The Game, the Foodie, Summer Slam3, Snap shot at 8, E Now, Frankly speaking and other popular programmes which are shown in the channel. This has gained a lot of popularity for the channel that intrudes into reality with these programmes.

Thus Times Now can be considered to be one of the most active news channels of India which has stretched to capture reality from all corners from India; in the most entertaining form.
