Tilak Maharashtra University , Pune , MaharashtraTilak Maharashtra University is situated at Pune in Maharashtra.The University was set up in the 1921 and was named after Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.The main objective of the University is to provide national education to the students .The University also focuses on make its student self-reliant and use their knowledge for the improvement of the society. The University Grant Commission has recognized the University. It was also given the status of Deemed University by the Central Government.

The University conducts 160 undergraduates, postgraduate, and research oriented courses in various disciplines through six faculties including Faculty of Arts and Fine Arts, Faculty of Moral and Social Sciences, Faculty of Ayurveda, Faculty of Modern Sciences and Professional Skills, Faculty of Education. The University also offers several short-term courses in Sanskrit, Indology, Commerce, Co-operative Management, Indian Classical Dance and Ayurveda. The University also offers several courses through distance mode. To meet the demand of the present age the University has started courses Journalism, Computer Science and Social Work few years ago.

The University has tie-ups with The College of Ayurveda, Middlesex University, London, Associated Colleges of the Midwest, India Studies Program, USA, Consulate General of Japan in association with Indo Japanese Association, Pune, The Iyengar Yoga Institute, Germany, Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust`s College of Ayurveda for conducting some specific courses.
