Situated at the capital city of Manipur, Imphal, the Mutta Museum was established in the year 1978. This museum boasts bell metal coins of Manipur, local coins of adjoining states, paintings of Hindu pantheon, Buddhist elements and fine earthenware potteries of Nungbi, Chairen and Andro villages.
In addition to these, the museum also has a wide range of collection of the various inscriptions of different tribes and musical instruments of various tribal communities of Manipur. The famous painting of Shri Bhadra, the court painter of Maharaja Churach, is an exclusive one.
Historians, scholars and general people may visit the museum between 10am to 4:30pm. It remains closed on every Tuesday.
