The culture of Andhra Pradesh consists of several museums that include Archaeological sites featuring relics of nearby ancient sites, varied collection of paintings, sculptures and religious artifacts. The Visakha Museum in Visakhapatnam displays history of the pre independence Madras presidency in a rehabilitated Dutch bungalow. Telugu is an ancient language which has rich and deep culture in literature. Contributions of the Charles Philip Brown, Sri Sri, Verana and Viswanatha Satyanarayana had made it an evolving and vibrant modern language. The telugu literature is influenced majorly by the Sanskrit literature and Hindu scriptures. The scriptures of Mahabharata were translated into telugu by Nannayya, Yerrapragada and Tikkana. The cuisine of Andhra Pradesh includes avakaya, Bandar laddu, pulusu, gongura, pappucharu, bobbattu, jonna kudu and arisa. It utilizes spices, vegetable and fruits harvest of the region. The staple food is Rice which is available in wide varieties. It is eaten wither boiled or with curry. It is eaten usually with pappu, an ordinary curry. Persarattu is not as same as attu and dosas. It was performed by male and female prostitutes traditionally. The men danced as women as the later were not allowed to do so in public. As times pass, women began to grasp the art as well and started dancing in the court of kings.
