Tel is the second largest river of Odisha state of India. It is a significant tributary of the Mahanadi River. It flows just eight km away from the town of Titilagarh. It passes through Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Balangir and Sonpur districts of Odisha. It meets the main river at Sonpur or Subarnapur. The meeting point of the two rivers offers a magnificent view against a colorful landscape.
Temple on Bank of Tel River
The river is known for sheltering Kosaleswar temple. The temple is located on the left bank of the Tel River. It is situated about 14km to the south-east of Subarnapur. The temple offers striking features of an earlier Buddhist shrines refurnished by the Hindus.
