Sweet Waterfall, ShillongSweet Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall that lies amidst lush greenery near the Happy Valley in Shillong. It is situated at outskirt of Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. It lies about 5 km from Happy Valley and is about 96 metres (315 ft) in height. Sweet Waterfall is one of the steepest and the most thrilling single stream waterfalls of Meghalaya. The water falls down with a tremendous force in the absence of rocks or anything else to break its flow. The adjacent areas are filled with pine trees.

Sweet Waterfall, also known as "Weitden" in the local language, is often termed as the "most beautiful" yet "most dangerous" waterfall in Shillong. The fall is very popular as a picnic spot and there is a butterfly museum and a mini zoo nearby as added attractions.

Visiting Information of Sweet Waterfall
Sweet Waterfall is accessible via road. However, tourists are prohibited to go close to the waterfall due the poor route and treacherous nature of the fall. The route to the waterfall is not very well maintained and the falls are surrounded by slippery stones that make them dangerous to navigate. Unlike other waterfalls, one cannot physically experience the Sweet Waterfall as it has been marked as a danger zone by the Government.
