The theatre group was set up in the city of Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was founded on 29th May in the year 1992. Swapnasandhani is popular for its acting and directorial skills of Koushik Sen. With consistent high quality work and tremendous dedication, the group has successfully carved a niche for itself.

Ever since its inception the group has been very successful and has always tried out new ideas and concept, and never shied away from experimentation in Bengali theatre.
