Super Commando Dhruva is an Indian comic book superhero character created by Anupam Sinha and published by Raj Comics. The character is inspired from DC Comics’ Batman.

Super Commando Dhruva, Characters in Indian Comics SeriesSuper Commando Dhruva is a character in Indian comics series published and distributed by Raj Comics. The superhero character was created by writer and illustrator Anupam Sinha and was first featured in the issue titled Pratishodh Ki Jwala. Super Commando Dhruva does not possess any powers or superhuman abilities; rather he is an expert in various forms of martial arts and has acquired enhanced reflexes, agility and speed through rigorous physical training. He also has a strong will power and high levels of intellect. Moreover, Dhruva has the ability to breathe underwater and can communicate with different animals. He also does not hide his real identity and is not known to have an alter ego. Super Commando Dhruva is not fond of using gadgets in combats but uses many weapons like Ninja stars, blades, acid capsules, nerve gas, roller skates and a motorbike. He utilizes the objects lying near by to his advantage. Super commando Dhruva has been very popular amongst Hindi comics readers right from its inception. The character has several similarities with the DC Comics character Batman. The comics is published in Hindi and English.

Concept of Super Commando Dhruva
Super Commando Dhruva`s parents, Shyam and Radha, were trapeze artists in Jupiter Circus. He was raised by circus artists amongst caged animals. During his early years in the circus, he was taught various forms of arts by different circus artists. Thus he developed into an expert marksman, gymnast and martial artist. He also evolved the skill of communicating with animals. The first issue of the series was titled Pratishodh ki Jwala which depicted the murder of his parents by the members of a competing circus troupe named Globe Circus. Dhruva vowed to avenge the death of his parents. Thus utilizing his various skills and talents, Dhruva becomes a crime fighting superhero named Super Commando Dhruva in the fictional city of Rajnagar. In later stories it was portrayed that he lives with foster parents.

The character of Super Commando Dhruva does have any superpowers like other superheroes, but has a muscular body and is an expert hand to hand combatant. He is a trained martial artist and an excellent marksman, but he usually avoids using guns and fire arms. Moreover, due to his ability of talking with animals and birds, Dhruva can gather various information about the crimes that occur in the region. He can also communicate with sea creatures and has the ability to breathe underwater for a prolonged period. This is perhaps only one of his superpowers that were given by his ally Dhananjay, a demi-god. Super Commando Dhruva is an excellent strategist and a detective as well and is able to observe minute clues to hunt and defeat his enemies. He usually uses various objects to disarm and capture his enemies but has vowed not to kill any one.

Super Commando Dhruva has also established and leads the Commando Force, along with Karim Shah, Peter Massy and Renu who help in fighting crime in Rajnagar. Shweta, his sister and a scientist, created many types of equipment for Dhruva like the Star Transmitter, a communicating device, shoes that instantly turn into roller skates and the Star Line, a metallic rope which is used for swinging. He also uses star-shaped blades known as Star Blades.

Friends and Enemies of Super Commando Dhruva
During his various adventures and missions Super Commando Dhruva has made several friends and allies and even more enemies. Police Officer I.G. Rajan Mehra and his wife Rajni Mehra adopted Dhruva and are now his foster parents and Shweta is Dhruva`s foster sister. Shweta has an alter ego named Chandika and wears a purple costume with a blonde wig. She is portrayed as Dhruva`s side-kick. Some of his other friends include Commander Natasha, his love interest in the series; Black Cat, also known as Richa; Dhruvisya; Rishi; Jalaj; Peter Massy; Renu; Karim Shah; Nagraj; Dhananjay; Jingalu; yeti; Samri; Vanputra; Kirigi; Lori; Kishore Pandey; Barf Manav also known as Dr. Virghese etc.

The arch enemies of Super Commando Dhruva are Grand Master Robo, Chandakaal, Mahamanav, Bauna Vaman, Dhwaniraj, Doctor Virus, Nostradamus, Chumba, Suprema , Super Nova, Jigsaw , Quiz Master, Alchemist , Vidushak , Nakshatra, Miss Killer,Thodanga , Nagdant , Nagina , Vishandhar , Zulu , Nagpasha , Gurudev , Karanvashi , Khalnayak Nagraj, Tutan Khamen, Head, Green Mamba, Schemer, Jubisko and others.
