Sunrisers Hyderabad is often abbreviated as SRH is a cricket franchise based in the city of Hyderabad that plays in the Indian Premier League 2013 sponsored by Pepsi Co. The IPL Governing Council founded the team on 25 October 2012 to replace the Deccan Chargers after the termination of Deccan Chargers. Kalanithi Maran of the Sun TV Network owns the team. The team made an appearance in the IPL playoffs in its maiden season in 2013 and has won the final of the 2016 Indian Premier League against Royal Challengers Bangalore led Virat Kohli.

Replacement of Deccan Chargers
Sunrisers Hyderabad replaced Deccan Chargers from IPL 2013 onwards. They retained 20 players from the old Chargers, which left slots open for 13 players (eight Indian, five overseas). They filled six of these with Thisara Perera, Darren Sammy, Sudeep Tyagi, Nathan Mc Cullum, Quinton de Kock and Clint McKay.

The team Sunrisers Hyderabad was announced in Chennai on the 18th of December 2012 and is owned by Sun TV Network. Sun TV Networks Limited, which is headquartered in Chennai, is one of India`s biggest television networks with 32 TV channels and 45 FM radio stations.
The team jersey was unveiled on March 8, 2013, and team anthem directed by G. V. Prakash Kumar was released on March 12, 2013. Their logo was unveiled on December 20, 2012, along with the announcement that Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Tom Moody and VVS Laxman would lead the team`s management.
