Shriprakash Jaiswal
Shriprakash Jaiswal was the Union Cabinet Minister for Coal during the regime of United Progressive Alliance. He also served as the Minister of State for Home Affairs from 23rd May 2004. He belongs to the Indian National Congress.

Shriprakash Jaiswal is an Indian politician who stood for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections on the Indian National Congress ticket and is currently a Member of Parliament (MP) from Kanpur. He has been Minister of State for Home Affairs since 23 May 2004.

Early Life of Shriprakash Jaiswal
Shriprakash Jaiswal was born on 25th September in the year 1944 to Late Ganga Prasad Jaiswal and Chandrakali Devi. He completed his education from D.A.V. College from Kanpur.

Political Career of Shriprakash Jaiswal
Shriprakash Jaiswal began his political career by serving as the party social worker in Kanpur City. For that he became the Mayor of Kanpur in 1989. Then he contested and won Lok Sabha election in the year 1999 from Kanpur. Further he won in Lok Sabha in the year 2004 and 2009 for the second and third time respectively. He has also been the President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee from 2000 till the year 2003.
