Sri Venkateswara University is a state university in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh which was established in 1954.

Sri Venkateswara University, Andhra PradeshSri Venkateswara University is built in the famous temple city of Tirupati under the auspices of Late Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, and with support of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The university began with six departments: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Economics and Philosophy.

The university has eight constituent colleges. The university has 58 departments. Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering is an autonomous institution whose foundation was laid by the late Jawaharlal Nehru on 13 October 1959. Since then, it has become a premier technological institution.
