Sri Mahavirji Temple, RajasthanSri Mahavirji Temple is situated at a distance of 90 kilometers from Ranthambore, Rajasthan. It is a Jain temple that is famous for its architecture. The temple displays an intelligent blend of ancient and contemporary designs. It is said that the statue of Mahavir Swami, the 24th Tirthankara, was discovered by a cowherd who grazed his cows on the mound where the temple is presently situated. a pillar faces the temple is a pillar known as the Man Stambha or the Tower of Glory where the footsteps of Mahavir Swami have been consecrated.

Sri Mahavirji Temple has been built in pristine white marble. it is a vast complex and the walls of the temple present religious scenes that are related to Jainism. The Chhatris of the temple are also visible from all around. Every year a fair is held on a large scale to commemorate the day when the statue of the lord was discovered.

Like most of the Jain temples Sri Mahavirji Temple, too, is superbly carved out of red stone and marble. There are several small temples within the site. The main shrine houses the idols of Jain saints. The statue of each saint is placed separately within a carefully carved niche. A massive statue of Shantinath, 16th Jain Tirthankara, is also to be found within the premises of Sri Mahavirji Temple in Rajasthan.
