Sonic or Sonic Nickelodeon is a brand new kids? entertainment channel from Nickelodeon, also known as Nick India. The satellite television channel, dedicated to children?s entertainment in India, is based in Mumbai and a part of Viacom 18 network. The new Sonic television channel was launched in the country in the year 2011. Sonic Nickelodeon is the Indian version of TeenNick, a counterpart of American Nickelodeon. Popular Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was appointed as the brand ambassador of Sonic Nickelodeon as the channel emphasizes that the channel is mainly for the action loving generation. Sonic Nickelodeon is mainly targeted at children between the age limit of 10- 17 years. This kids? entertainment channel primarily focuses on broadcasting live action and animated shows based action and adventures genres. Sonic television channel also has a block called Flix that airs Hindi and other animated movies in the weekends. The programmes that are primarily aimed at teenagers, consists of 85% animation shows and 15% live action programmes.
