Sonakshi Sinha is an Indian actress who has gained prominence in a quite early phase of her career. She made her debut in the year 2010 with the movie Dabangg. The movie was marked as the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year and the actress received appreciations for her performance. For her very first movie she also won the Filmfare Awards for Best Female Debut.
Early Life of Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha was born to Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. The former is an Indian actor and politician. Sonakshi is the youngest of three siblings and has two twin elder brothers. She completed her primary education from Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai and graduated from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Womens University, Mumbai, in fashion designing.
Film Career of Sonakshi Sinha
Career of Sonakshi Sinha began as a costume designer. She started in the year 2005 by designing costumes for the movie Mera Dil Leke Dekho. At the Lakme Fashion Week 2008 and 2009, she also walked at the ramp. As an actor, she marked her presence in the film industry in 2010 through the movie Dabangg in which she was featured with Salman Khan. The film was a huge success and also brought fame and critical acclamations to Sonakshi Sinha. In December 2010, she became the cover girl of Indian edition of Maxim magazine. Although in 2011 she was not involved in any projects, she won a number of awards for her debut movie. In 2012, four movies of Sonakshi released which included Prabhu Deva`s Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar. The movie got a great opening at box office and received mixed reviews. Her next movie of the same year was Shirish Kunder`s Joker where she was again starred with Akshay Kumar. Her next two movies of 2012 were Ashwni Dhir`s Son of Sardar and Arbaaz Khan`s Dabangg 2, both of which were successful at box office. Owing to the strong collections of her movies, Sonakshi was awarded with ETC Business Awards, as the Highest Grossing actress of 2012.
In the year 2013, she was featured in Vikramaditya Motwane`s Lootera, which was a period romance-drama, along with Ranveer Singh. The movie received a moderate response at box office; however, Sonakshi earned critical acclamations for the soulful portrayal of her character. She also starred in Milan Luthria`s crime romance film Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! in the same year.
Dubbing Career of Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha entered the dubbing industry in 2012 with the Hindi-dubbed version of American 3D animated film Rise of the Guardians. In the movie she lend her voice to the Tooth Fairy.
