Someshwari River, MeghalayaSomeshwari River also spelt as Someswari is situated in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is also known as Simsang River. It is an important river in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya and Netrakona District of Bangladesh. The Garo Hills is divided into two parts by the Someshwari River.

In Meghalaya Someshwari River is known as Simsang. The starting point of the river is from Nokrek peak that runs towards east. The river passes through Rongrengiri, Williamnagar, the headquarters of the East Garo Hills district, Nongalbibra, Siju, Rewak and finally stops at Baghmara, the headquarters of the South Garo Hills district. The chief tributaries of the river are Chibok, Rongdik, Rompa and Ringdi rivers. The river has many scenic waterfalls in Meghalaya.

Someshwari River also flows in Bangladesh through the Susang-Durgapur and other areas of Netrakona District.
