Singhik is one of the most popular travelling destinations in North Sikkim. A small hamlet, it is located at a distance of 4 kms from Mangan on North Sikkim Highway. The town is located in the midst of natural surroundings. It is situated about 70 km from Gangtok and is close to the city of Mangan, the district headquarters for North Sikkim. Singhik is famous among the tourists for panoramic view of Kanchenjunga Peak and Siniolchu Peak that it offers. The natural beauty of the town is breathtaking.

Singhik also offers an attractive view of the neighbouring places. Below this view point, the converging point of Teesta River and Kanaka River can be seen. Located at an altitude of 4000 feet, the town is rich in flora. The forested hills and the fascinating mountain streams make the town an interesting place to visit. Tourists interested in trekking can move uphill towards the ancient Monastery or move towards the higher ridges of the adjacent hills. The high hills and the resonant sound of the waterfalls capture the interest.

Demography of Singhik
According to the census of 2011, the Singhik village has population of 1268 of which 641 are males while 627 are females. The population of children with age 0-6 is 139 which make up 10.96 % of total population of village. Singhik village has higher literacy rate compared to Sikkim. The male literacy stands at 88.48 % while female literacy rate was 78.78 %. The people of Singhik represent three ethnic communities: the Lepcha, Nepali, and Bhutia. Lepcha comprise nearly 80% of the population.

Sightseeing at Singhik
Singhik is a suitable place for relaxing while travelling towards Lachen or Lachung. Singhik is not a destination with typical sightseeing options. Apart from the clear view of the Kanchenjunga Peak and Siniolchu Peak, tourist can also get the opportunity to view the majestic beauty of the Seven Sisters Waterfall. While in Singhik it is worthwhile to go for the half an hour uphill trek that will take you to the ancient Singhik monastery. Dzongu, the Lepcha area, is not far from here. A day tour to Dzongu area would be worthwhile.

Singhik is an impending tourist spot that is well accomplished with all the modern accommodation facilities for the visitors. One centrally located tourist lodge in the town looks after the accommodation needs of the tourists. The lodge commands a magnificent view of the snow ranges on a clear day. The area with forested hills and tumbling mountain streams also has a number of interesting short nature trails along the higher ridges of the surrounding hills. Weather of Singhik
In Singhik weather is mild in summer as well as winter. Summer temperature rarely crosses 25 degree centigrade. Winter temperature rarely goes below 5 degree centigrade. Monsoon months of July and August witnesses heavy downpour resulting in occasional road blockage due to landslide.
