They are used both as jewellery or taken orally as pastes or oxides as Bhasmas and gems. Every gem is exceedingly radioactive and has the power to attract unusual cosmic rays towards it. Planetary shakes regulates everybody`s sensitive tendons or veins. Classics (mythology) speak of the position of planets in the solar and lunar systems at the time of child`s birth, influencing every child their entire life. At times, the weak control of planets & stars create disparity in life. Wearing of gems after proper astrological consultation of one`s horoscope can save mental instability, physical agony and monetary hindrances. In this manner gems serve as shield and safeguard.

Significance Of GemstonesWearing of these gems regulates the dhatus and the psycho-physical well-being in human life. The Puranas furnish wonderful stories about the origin of gems that transmit the usefulness of the gems. The Karma Purana states that gems were created from the seven different kinds of rays of light, radiating from the seven foremost planets of the solar system. These rays were transmitted in seven colours of the rainbow- Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red. These seven rays of light are responsible for all the celestial existences in cosmos, including the human body. Colours are the frequencies of light in various bands, and therefore they emanate energy in numerous forms, which straightaway influences human body and cognisance. There comprise hot and cold colours and colours that are neutral (neither hot not cold). Hot colours increase heat, which leads to haughtiness and fury; cold colours usher tranquility in life system. The neutral colours give rise to pleasurable feelings and delight.

The chemical nature of gems bring them in close proximity to man. There are crystals of clear and purified chemicals that are also found in the human body. Their contact with the electromagnetic field of the body becomes easier when they are engrafted in pure electrolytes like copper, silver and gold. They are then used in rings, worn between two junctures of fingers. Joints are obviously the tenderest parts of the body, where the network of nerve fibres and the lymphatic fluid together serve as the assimilators of energy emanated by the gems. With their negligible and invariable contact with the skin, they bring alterations in the body chemistry by their interface with the body`s energy field, which is interpenetrated by a complex electromagnetic field.

Ancient scriptures from throughout the world have measured gems as authoritative agents of energy that regulates human fortune and destiny, inducts vital energy, and ejects the negative energy that induces illness, distress and psychosis. Gems institute harmony, opulence and contentment. Positive gems produce name, fame and power & makes life relaxed and affluent.

Gemstones act as stores of celestial energy and are used for sculpturing objects of worship, idols, rosaries, talismans (yantras), amulets, pendulums and so on. They were also used for mandalas and pots, to offer holy water or preserving the offerings for consecration. Lingams and yantras in pyramidal shape are manufactured from Sphatik (quartz). It is assumed that yantras carved on stone and rosaries made of precious stones or rudraksha, renders `siddhi` faster than a rosary made of other beads.
