Geography of Sidhi District
Sidhi district is located on the North-eastern boundary of the state between 22 degree 47.5 minutes and 24.42 degree 10 minutes to the North Latitude and 81 degree 40 minutes and 82 degree 48.30 minutes to the East longitudes. The district has Singrauli district in the northeast, Korea District of Chhattisgarh on the east, and Rewa district on the west. The average rainfall per year is 1248.3 millimetres. On the Northern boundary of the district of Sidhi is situated the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The Sarguja School is in the south, Rewa on the west and touches Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. This district is situated on the Northeastern boundary of the state between. Sidhi District is one of the four districts of Rewa Division in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Sidhi is also known as penultimate Northeastern frontier of the state. The district is located about six hundred and thirty two kilometres from the state capital Bhopal and eighty kilometres from the Divisional Head Office. The district is stretched between one hundred and fifty five kilometres from East to West and ninety-five kilometres from North to South. The total geographical area of the district of Sidhi is four thousand eight hundred and fifty four square kilometres.

According to the Census in 2011, Sidhi has a population of 1,126,515. Out of which male and female were 577,091 and 549,424 respectively. The population of Sidhi District constituted 1.55 percent of total population of Madhya Pradesh. The population density of Sidhi district is 232 people per sq. km. Sidhi district administers 4,851 square kilometres of areas. The average literacy rate of Sidhi was 66.09 percent. According to the gender, the male and female literacy rates were 76.52 and 55.23 percent respectively. The total literates in Sidhi District were 619,768 of which male and female were 366,004 and 253,764 respectively.
Education of Sidhi District
When Arjun Singh was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, a Committee was formed to find out more about the educational system in Sidhi district and also who was the first educated man in this district. It was in the year 1980. It was tasked to find out the educational percentage in Sidhi District. It was popularly thought that Rajasahab of Madhwas was the first graduate from Sidhi. Further survey revealed that Shri Divakar Bahadur Singh, village Jhalwar (Churhat), was the first graduate from Allahabad University. He had done his BA in 1924 and had proceeded to do his LLB also from Allahabd University in 1926. It was also found that the first school in Sidhi was in Bardi. This school had started around the year 1880. Now there are many schools in this district.
