Early Life of Siddharth Roy Kapur
Siddharth Roy Kapur was born on 2nd August 1974. He graduated in Commerce from the Sydenham College in Mumbai and later did his MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). His mother is Jew and former Miss India and his father is Punjabi. Siddharth belongs to a film background as his mother has worked as choreographer for many dance sequences and his younger brothers Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunaal Roy Kapur are prominent Bollywood actors.

Career of Siddharth Roy Kapur
Siddharth Roy Kapur has been working with UTV since the year 2005. In India he achieved success through his works with Star TV and the Procter and Gamble Company while at the international arena he has played marketing leadership roles in Dubai and Hong Kong. During his initial phase of work with UTV as Senior Vice President he also worked as the head of Marketing and Communications division in motion pictures, animation, television and corporate. His marketing efforts also elevated the home-grown Hungama TV to a leading channel in the competitive broadcasting space of kids beating the multinational channels such as Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, POGO and Cartoon Network.

His marketing efforts have been rewarded in the Bollywood classics Khosla Ka Ghosla and Parineeta. Following this he took up the responsibility of the revenues function at UTV Motion Pictures where he managed the worldwide distribution and syndication, in addition to marketing responsibilities. In January 2008 he became the CEO of Motion Pictures for UTV and worked for all the aspects of marketing, production, development, creative, distribution and syndication. Under his leadership the studio reached zenith of success with unmatched movies like Barfi!, Paan Singh Tomar, Rowdy Rathore, Delhi Belly, No One Killed Jessica, Peepli [Live], Udaan, Raajneeti, Kaminey, Dev.D, A Wednesday!, Aamir, Fashion, Jodhaa Akbar and many more. The Motion Pictures division at UTV soon got enlisted amongst the top production and distribution houses of India in terms of quality of content and revenue.

In the last six years, four of the UTV productions have received nominations for the Academy Awards and has won a number of esteemed awards and accolades in India. The company has also produced several south Indian films. Siddharth assumed the role of Managing Director for the studio business after the integration of UTV and The Walt Disney Company India. Being the producer of Disney UTV productions, his first movie was Barfi!. This was followed by films like Shahid, The Lunchbox, Satyagraha, Chennai Express, Ghanchakkar, Kai Po Che!, ABCD: AnyBody Can Dance and Heroine. On 1st January 2014 Siddharth became the Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company India and since then manages all the businesses and operations of the company in India including Media Networks, Interactive, Consumer Products and Studios.

Siddharth Roy Kapur, Indian Movie Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur is a two time divorcee. His first wife was his childhood friend while his second wife was a television producer. He married the Bollywood actress Vidya Balan on 14th December 2012 in a private ceremony in Mumbai.

Achievements of Siddharth Roy Kapur
In 2009 Siddharth won Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards and IIFA Awards for Best Film for the movie Jodhaa Akbar. In 2012 he received National Film Award for Best Children`s Film for the film Chillar Party. He won a number of awards in the year 2013 including Screen Award for Best Film for Paan Singh Tomar, BIG Star Entertainment Awards, IIFA Awards, Stardust Awards, Filmfare Awards, Zee Cine Awards all for the film Barfi! and National Film Award for Best Feature Film for Paan Singh Tomar.
