Siddhaganga, KarnatakaSiddhaganga, dedicated to Siddhalingeshwara, is situated on a hilltop in Karnataka. At the temple entrance six shrines have been placed. This place is renowned for the Veerashaiva Matha. This matha is an important educational and pilgrim centre. As one approach the temple one will come across a mammoth statue of Lord Hanuman. This institute was famous for its educational services. Besides the matha there are two ancient temples that belong to the 16th century.

One of them is the Lakshminarayana temple. The principal deity here is lord Vishnu. It was built in 1560. Later a temple dedicated to Maruthi was also established. The matha is an ancient ashram, which has a record of yogis or Siddhapurushas. These men were worshippers of Lord Shiva. This religious institute in Karnataka was established by Sree Gosala Siddeshwara Swamiji. Shivyogis like Sree Sree Ataveeshwara Swamigalu, Sree Sree Uddana Shivayoigalu and Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamigalu are some of the illustrious names that are associated with this matha.

In this institute education is imparted to people irrespective of their cast, color or creed in the Gurukul system. The matha also runs a blind school. Besides the social and religious importance institutes like these depict the traditions and history of the ancient Karnataka. The easiest way to come here is through Bangalore. From the garden city Siddhaganga is at a distance of 63 kilometers.

Namadha Chilume is another tourist attraction in Karnataka. This place has a steak of water flowing from Threthra Yuga. As the legend goes Lord Rama was looking for water to quench Sita`s thirst while they were in the forest. He shot an arrow at a rock and water sprung from it. Since then, it is said that the water here never dried up. This too is a historic as well as a religious site in Siddhaganga, Karnataka.
