Shri Bhagwan Mahavirji Teerth is situated at village Chandanpur on the banks of the river Gambhir. The idol of Lord mahavira was found here in the 17th and 19th century.

It is believed that during the period of 17th and 19th century the idol of Lord Mahavira was found buried under a mound nearby. The idol appears to be very ancient and has very beautiful and impressive looks. A splendid temple was built as soon as the idol was discovered. The idol of Mahavira was installed there in the temple.

A miraculous incident took place that led to the manifestation of the idol. According to the story a cow belonging to a certain household of a low caste was not giving any milk for some time. Enquiries were made about the queer incident that revealed that the cow used to stand on a mound on a nearby spot. There all her milk used to ooze out. The owners of the cow strived their best to verify the reason behind the incident by visiting the place but could not succeed in their attempts. After many researches, eventually the mound was dug open and the idol of Shri Bhagwan Mahavira was discovered. The idol was thus taken out of the mould with much humility and devotion. The news of the discovery of idol spread far and wide and thousands of devotees began gathering at that spot to have a glimpse of the idol of Lord Mahaviras. It is said that the mere sight of the Lord satisfied the wishes and ambitions of the devotees. With the passage of time the number of devotees began increasing. Finally a magnificent temple was built and with due sanctification rituals, the idol was installed there. Even today thousands of devotees visit the temple every day. According to the devotees the mere visit gives them peace never experienced before and fulfils all their dreams.

Celebration in Shri Bhagwan Mahavirji Temple
An annual fair is held in the Shri Bhagwan Mahavirji Temple during the months of Chaitra Sukla 13 and Vaishakh Krishna 1. Thousands of devotees both Jains and non-Jains such as Min, Gujar, Jat etc., visit this holy place during the fair and give their offerings. It is said that the kings of Jaipur being impressed by the extra-ordinariness of this shrine have donated the maintenance cost of the shrine such as ceremonial worships, ghee lamps, incense burning etc. The place from where the idol was discovered has been converted into a small structure with a roof. The Lord`s Foot-Prints are also enshrined there. The style and architecture of the temple attracts the attention of the visitors. The temple also has a cluster of sikhars .

Transportation to Shri Bhagwan Mahavirji Temple
The nearby railway station of Bhagwan Mahavirji is 7Kms away where buses and taxis are available. On Mumbai -Delhi railway line, Bhagwan Mahavirji station comes between Gangapur and Hindon. From Delhi, Bhagwan Mahavirji is 305 Kms and from Jaipur and Agra is 175 Kms. In Jaipur and Ajmer, there are direct buses to Shri Bhagwan Mahavirji. From Jaipur this shrine can be reached via Mahuva, Hindon and Kheda. It is 60 Kms away from Mahuva village, which is on NH II.
