Sheikh Chilli`s Tomb
Sheikh Chilli’s Tomb, Haryana follows Persian architectural patterns and was proclaimed a protected monument of national importance. Various archaeological artefacts including broken objects of red ware, black slipped ware of Pre-Kushana period, grey ware etc. have been unearthed from the site.

Sheikh Chilli`s TombSheikh Chilli`s tomb is the tomb of Sufi Abd-ur-Rahim Abdul-Karim Abd-ur-Razak or Sheikh Chilli and is situated in the region of Thanesar in the northern Indian state of Haryana. Sheikh Chilli was the Qadiriyya Sufi guide of the Dara Shikoh, the son of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

Architecture of the Sheikh Chilli"s Tomb
The architectural plan of the tomb shows considerable Persian influence. A stone mosque or `Pather Masjid` composed with the aid of red sandstone was also established near this tomb. The Mughal Gardens are present on the northern part of the Shiekh Chilli`s tomb. Sheikh Chilli`s tomb was proclaimed as a protected monument of national significance under Section 4 of the Ancient Monument and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958.

Attractions of the Sheikh Chilli"s Tomb
There is an Archaeological Museum run by Archaeological Survey of India inside the complex. The monument was protected and stated as of National importance under section 4 of the Ancient Monument and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958; Vide No. 8516, dated 27-03-1919.

The tomb consists of archaeological finds, like seals and sealing, terracotta figurines, plaques, ornaments, and swords from sites in nearby regions of Kurukshetra and Bhagwanpura. These objects are notably from Kushana, Gupta period and from post Gupta period or Vardhana dynasty period which attract the visitors.

Another important fact is that tourists can witness everything with peace, sit happily, have chats and click pictures. The area near the main tomb offers a very good view and therefore, some people even prefer to sit here for a little longer to relax.
