Early Life of Shakthi Vasudevan
Shakthi Vasudevan was born on February 23, 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to film director P. Vasu and Shanthi. His grandfather Peethambaram was a popular make-up artist for M. G. Ramachandran.

Career of Shakthi Vasudevan
Shakthi Vasudevan first featured as a child artist in his father"s successful film "Chinna Thambi", released in 1991, portraying the younger version of the character played by Prabhu. He featured as a child artist in the 1992 films "Rickshaw Mama", "Senthamizh Paattu" and "Idhu Namma Bhoomi", all directed by his father.

In 2007, Shakthi Vasudevan made his debut as an adult in the leading role in his father"s directorial "Thottal Poo Malarum", a romantic film where he featured in the role of Ravi Thyagarajan. The film was an average grosser at the box office. He next featured in the lead in P. V. Ravi"s 2008 romantic comedy "Mahesh Saranya Matrum Palar", playing the character Mahesh. It was unsuccessful at the box office. The following year, Vasudevan appeared in "Ninaithale Inikkum", a drama film where he played the lead alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, and was appreciated by critics for his work. An average grosser initially, it was later declared a Super Hit at the box office.

He made a guest appearance in the romance film "Yuvan Yuvathi" and featured in the lead as Arjun in the action romance film "Etho Seithai Ennai", which received negative reviews and became a box office flop. He was seen in the 2016 action thriller film "Tharkappu", in the lead as Shakthi alongside Samuthirakani. The film received fairly good reviews, with a critic noting that the film is a "must watch for its powerful message". Shakthi Vasudevan was seen in a Kannada horror film "Shivalinga", in the role of Raheem, which was remade in Tamil by P. Vasu and Shakthi featured in the same, alongside Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh in the lead. Shakthi Vasudevan was last seen in V. R. Goutham directed "7 Naatkal" as the lead alongside Nikesha Patel and Angana Roy in 2017. This movie garnered mixed reviews and fared poorly at the box office.

In 2017, Shakthi Vasudevan took part in the Tamil reality television show, Bigg Boss hosted by Kamal Hassan in Star Vijay.
