Also known as Weiking Dance, the Shad Suk Mynsiem Festival is a rich traditional dance form of the Khasi tribe. This festival is celebrated in the month of April and is another annual thanksgiving festival of Meghalaya.

Overview of Shad Suk Mynsiem
The Shad Suk Mynsiem Festival is a three days long festival, where the participation of both male and female members in the festivities are important. The musical instruments like drums, flutes and cymbals are used during the dance. It is also said that Ka Shad Suk Mynsiem dance is symbolic of women fertility where they are receptacles of seeds and bearers of fruit, and men are cultivators who plant, cultivate and nurture the seeds until they are harvested.
