Sevagram which means village of services is a small well maintained and neatly built village which was established by Mahatma Gandhi. This small village is often referred as the second home Gandhi after Sabarmati Ashram where Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi used to reside in the later part of their life. This village is presently known as a national institution that contains some vital buildings that is open for common man. Sevagram is popularly known for its simplicity and a calm Ashram which defines Gandhi`s way of living. Prominently this place witnessed some of the momentous and vital decisions which were discussed in this place during the freedom struggle of India.
Marked with cleanliness this place is like a ashram.This includes some important buildings like Aakhiri Niwas (Last Residence), Adi Niwas, Ba Kutir (Gandhiji`s wife Kasturba`s residence), Bapu Kutir, Gandhi Stambh, Maha-dev Kutir, Nai Talim, Paunar Chhatri, Prayer Ground and Shanti (Peace) Bhawan. Along with this the village also has Khadi Gram Udyog and Bhandar that sells huge variety of khadi textile along with some literatures on Gandhi and his autobiography. Sevagram is surrounded with a number of residential houses built like rural cottages and a museum. Among which there are some more prominent cottages like Bapu kuthir, Ba kuthir and other prominent places.

This place serves as a major inspiration for those who agree and follow Gandhiji`s way of living a simple life.
