Scottish Church College is the oldest continuously running Christian liberal arts and sciences college in India. This college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta.

Scottish Church College, KolkataScottish Church College is one of the oldest colleges having missionary heritage, which teaches liberal arts and sciences. It is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The College is located at 1 and 3 Urquhart Square, Calcutta -700006. The Scottish Church college building is an example of English Palladian architecture and beautiful campus. The College has an excellent faculty and rich intellectual milieu. The college fest is known as Caledonia and the students and teachers call themselves as Caledonians after the name of the festival. The University Grants Commission (India) has accepted the recommendations of the University of Calcutta to regard this college as a centre of excellence.

History of Scottish Church College
Mr. Alexander Duff was the founder of the College. The institution was known as Scottish Church College after Duff`s institution merged with Church of Scotland in 1929. The Scottish Church College played a pivotal role in Bengalis intellectual enquiry and the idea to accept the European Enlightenment, which brought Bengal Renaissance.

Courses offered by Scottish Church College
The College offers various courses during under graduation in both B.A. and B.Sc courses. The students can take admission in both general and Honours courses. The B.A. course includes Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Sciences, Philosophy, Education, and Sociology while the B. Sc. Course offers Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Statistics, Microbiology, and Computer Science. Other major subjects that can be taken are Food Science and Quality Control. B.Ed course is also taught in the Scottish Church College.
