Early Life of Satya Paul
His birth place is Leigha, Muzaffargarh and he later came to India at the time of partition. Till the late seventies he created a niche for himself and his genuine creations in the fashion world. He established two of the best fashion stores of the country in Mumbai and Delhi. He was among the first few to work in tandem with the weavers and establishing a designer brand for the west. This exposure, as well as working with weavers in their own villages, travel to the west for exports since the seventies told him to start marketing the work that he was doing as a `designer brand`.

Career of Satya Paul
He launched the brand Satya Paul in the year of 1985, anticipating the bright future of the fashion industry in the world. The Satya Paul Brand encompasses the saris, fabrics, ties and scarves. Satya Paul is a versatile designer and loves playing with the elements, designs and fabrics from all nooks and corners of the world. He always supported and promoted the diverse weaving crafts available in the country. He was one of the pioneers in using the latest technologies to create the designs. By the most innovative styling, he tried to change the form and designing of the traditional salwar-kameez and sarees.

Satya Paul, his label was launched seeing the future of fashion industry in 1985. The Satya Paul brand is the premier designer brand for saris, fabrics, ties and scarves. He is extremely versatile as a designer, playing with elements and design, and fabrics from all over the world. He has been a supporter and promoter of the various crafts of weaving from all over the country and also one to use the latest in technology to create design from all over the world. One of his major contributions to designing has been the change in the way the sari and salwaar kameez by innovating the very form and drape of it.

LIFW 2002
Here Puneet Nanda for Satya Paul presented their signature prints in basic black and white with accents of vibrant colours. The look was easy and calm carried forward in the sarees, churidaar-kurtas, skirts and dresses. The printed jacquard fabrics edged with sequins and multi-coloured beadwork were refreshingly elegant. The Indian shot silks in colours like red-green and magenta-blue were quilted finely to create a very wearable collection.

LIFW 2003
The first sequence of the Satya Paul collection was in black red and white printed with Oriental calligraphy. The lines were clean and uncluttered. Western fusion shapes: mini dresses, kurti churidars, ruched slinky pants in silk crepe de chines. Next was a sequence of slightly 60s looking spotty pints: white on strong pastels. This dotty theme went into a line of georgette saris. The next sequence was again in pastels, but this time all in stripes: horizontal, vertical diagonal and chevrons. Pants were wide legged flares or slim line understated flares. There was a lot of lycra as mini dresses and micro skirts.

LIFW 2005
With a collection called Madonna Meets Sita -- meant to signify the marriage between the modern and the traditional -- Satya Paul`s son Puneet Nanda unveiled a collection that was rich, deep and complete. The Satya Paul collection included dresses in beiges with a very strong Indian influence, full sequined choli-like tops, knee-length kurtas, and skirts with strappy dresses worn underneath. Some of the underclothes had prints that looked like paint had been splashed on. There were also digital print saris and net saris and designs that Satya Paul is best known for-a heavily embellished net sari with a paint-splashed petticoat.

Wills Lifestyle IFW 2006
The Satya Paul label was launched in 1985. It has an unmistakable look and can be recognized on the street. The line comprised of Western and Indian silhouettes, sarees, fabrics, accessories and ties for men. This retro modern collection was the first to have been designed jointly by Puneet Nanda and Chiara Nath, both multidisciplinary artists.

Contribution of Satya Paul
His greatest contribution lies in his attempts at dynamism and the movement from the winds, birds and the animals, the use of vibrant colours from the flowers, and the aesthetics from the music, paintings and the sculptures to craft and boost, and augment the style and the beauty of the today`s woman. Satya Paul created a whole range of the collections for the Lakme India fashion Week (LIFW) which include the constellation, zigzag, stripes, floral, Guatemala, and calligraphy etc. The mantle of the Satya Paul is being carried effectively by his son Puneet Nanda. Puneet tried his hands in almost all the avenues pertaining to the phenomenon called designing, starting from Photography, graphic design, textiles, finished garments and choreography of the famous fashion shows. The Satya Paul Designs always have the strong influence of the nature and the beauty associated with it. Each creation of Satya Paul has a distinct style and flavour which gives the added boost to the personality. To sum it up Satya Paul has come here to stay for long time in the world of fashion and would create many exquisite and wonderful creations in near future.
