Sathaye College, MumbaiSathaye College was formerly known as Parle College. The Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association established it in the year 1959. Sathaye College is located in Vile Parle in Mumbai and is known for producing merit holders every year. Students of Sathaye College stand out for their academic excellence. Sathaye College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

History of Sathaye College
Sathaye College was established by philanthropists like Shri Baburao Paranjpe and others in the year 1959. The Parle Tilak Vidyalaya High School, established by Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association, had long been running successfully. The next step certainly, was the establishment of an institute of higher learning, which would cater to the needs of students around Vile Parle. Initially, when the college was under construction, classes were conducted in Parle Tilak Vidyalaya High School. The foundation stone for the college building was laid on 4th of November, 1959 by Shri Ganesh Hari Pethe, the President of the Institution. Professor C.B. Joshi took over as the first Principal of Sathaye College. The college was well prepared with a well-stocked library and laboratories. Further, for the ease of employed students there were special classes held in early mornings or late evenings. To encourage academic excellence a scheme was launched inviting research papers from teachers.

Objective of Sathaye College
Sathaye College was established with the main objective of providing the students with an avenue for pursuing higher education. The mission of Sathaye College is to foster in students commitment towards society and the nation. This college mainly aims at inculcating ethical values within the students.

Courses Offered at Sathaye College
Sathaye College provides a variety of courses through its Junior and Degree College. The junior level college has acquired recognition from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune. Courses in Science, Arts, Commerce as well as Science (Bifocal Vocational) and H.S.C. Vocational are offered to the students. The college also offers Degree courses in B.Sc., B.A., B.Com, B.M.M., B.M.S. and B.M.S.

Sathaye College also offers various professional courses affiliated to University of Mumbai like IT, Finance and Management. Accountancy, Ancient Indian Culture, Bifocal Computer Science, Bifocal Electronics, Biology, Business Law, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Gujarati, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Microbiology, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology are some of the main programmes offered by Sathaye College.

Facilities of Sathaye College
Sathaye College has a rich tradition of fostering creativity and the arts. It offers facilities of athletics and fitness activities. Sathaye students compete in around 35 varsity sports and nearly 20 club sports. Students also get financial assistance. But, all undergraduate financial aid is based on need. The college`s fine arts, dance, English Literary Association, Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, Hindi Sahitya Parishad encourage young talent.
