In Hindu mythology, Sarama is the name of a female dog belonging to Indra and the other gods. She is said to be the mother of canine animals. In the Hindu mythology she is mentioned as the mother of the four-eyed brindled dogs of Yama.
In a mythical story it is said that Sarama went in search of cattle, stolen and hidden in the Vala by an evil people called Panis. Sarama in general mean any female dog or bitch.
