Sapt Sarovar temple was constructed by Bhagat Chajju Ram in 1969. The name `Sapt Sarovar` is derived from the "Sapt Rishis". There is a Sapt Sarovar (a hallowed lake) located nearby the temple complex. The Sapt Sarovar Mandir, Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir also houses a pathshala (primary educational institution for the disadvantaged) and a dharamshala (rest houses for pilgrims). The Sapt Sarovar Mandir is accessible from Kathua, on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway. The nearest railhead is the Kathua Railway Station.
