Initially he appeared in a number of films in supporting roles but gradually established himself among the leading actors of Bollywood. He is the co founder of the production house named Anticlock Films. With time Sanjay Suri achieved expertise in his performance which received prominent recognition in the film My Brother Nikhil. His contributions in the film industry have also been honoured with various accolades.

Early Life of Sanjay Suri
Sanjay Suri was born on 6th April 1971 in Srinagar, Kashmir. After spending 19 years of his life in his hometown, he started his career as a model in New Delhi. He is the youngest of his three siblings, having an elder brother, named Raj Suri, and sister, Vandana. During his childhood, Sanjay Suri was an excellent squash player and was included in his school and state teams. Sanjay had an ardent love for nature and the outdoors. In the year 1990 he lost his father to a terrorist attack following which his family moved to Jammu and spent a brief period in a refugee camp. Later they shifted to Delhi.

Career of Sanjay Suri as an Actor
After moving to New Delhi in 1990 Sanjay Suri entered the world of modelling. He modelled in Delhi for a large number of companies including Gillette, Nilkamal Furniture, Times of India and Philishave. He marked his debut in the film industry with the film Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi in 1999 in which he essayed a supporting role. Although the movie did not perform well at the box office, Suri was noticed in the industry. He further grew as an actor with his future ventures. Sanjay finally got his big break with Jhankar Beats in 2003. His role alongside Juhi Chawla was immensely appreciated. The film was crucial in establishing him as an experienced actor.

In all the films Suri proved his mettle as an excellent actor. In the film Pinjar, he shared his screen with Urmila Matondkar and he got positive reviews alike Jhankar Beats. Sanjay Suri matured as an actor to a level that his skills were always appreciated and his reputation did not depend upon the success of the film. In 2005 Sanjay Suri proved his real capabilities as an actor when he delivered a critically acclaimed performance in My Brother Nikhil, as a homosexual AIDS victim, co-starring Juhi Chawla. The movie received undisputed praise among Indian film critics. Subsequently he acted in a number of other films like Bas Ek Pal, Firaaq, I Am, Heroine, Speed and many more but none of them could garner further fame to the actor.

Career of Sanjay Suri as a Producer
Sanjay Suri along with the director of My Brother Nikhil, Onir, produced the film titled Sorry Bhai! Under the banner of Anticlock Sanjay Suri, Indian ActorFilms the duo produced another film titled I Am which combines four stories dealing with varied issues. With this movie they also introduced the concept of crowd sourcing, a new mode of production, which was an unexplored arena in the Indian cinema.

Achievements of Sanjay Suri
Sanjay Suri has been honoured with the membership of International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film and Television by Sandeep Marwah. His co-produced film `I Am` won the David Flint Honorary Award for promoting human rights. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. In 2010 the film won Asian Cinema Award (NETPAC) at the International Kerala Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award, Best Film at Florence `River to River` festival. At the Cannes Film Festival of 2012 Sanjay Suri became a part of the Incredible India team representing `I Am`.

Personal Life of Sanjay Suri
Sanjay Suri is married to Ambika, who is a psychologist by profession and hails from Delhi, since the year 2001. The couple is blessed with two children.
