Sambhala is a village celebrated as the birthplace of the sage Kalki who was endowed with eight superhuman faculties.
In the Hindu texts it is mentioned that Sambhala is a Brahman village, of undetermined location, that will be the birthplace of Kalki, the future messianic incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The Indian Kalacakra literature gives clear indications of the location of its Sambhala. Sambhala is said to be situate in north of India, and it is north of the Sita River, which we may identify with the Tarim River in Eastern Turkestan. Thus Sambhala will be situated in the region north of the Tian Shan.
