Saikao
Saikao is mainly known as the first three Congregational Churches of India. Built with excellent architecture this place is one of the major attractions of Maraland, Mizoram.

Saikao is the centre of famous Congregational Church of Mizoram which was developed under the colonial rule of British Empire. This is one of the ancient cities of Mizoram. It was mainly selected for its scenic beauty. Saikao has the headquarters of Congregational Churches. It has a number of wooden houses which are well built. The wood used for their construction was large imported from the forests of Myanmar. These well built wooden houses enjoy the panoramic view of the north eastern hills that surround the area. The place has a number of missionaries among which Lorrain Ville is most attractive which stations the London missionaries since 1920.Along with the missionaries the place is also known for the age old cemetery which is used by the local people. While it has some ancient graves it is still under use.

As such this is one of the oldest cities of Mizoram which was develop3edev by the colonial missionaries with an intension to baptise the local tribal people who were different from rest of tribes of Mizoram. With its cultural heritage and attractive wooden houses this considered to be a major city of Mizoram.
