Sachin Pilgaonkar, Indian ActorSachin Pilgaonkar, the veteran actor is a very popular name in the world of Marathi and Hindi film industry. This extremely talented actor was born in Mumbai in a Konkanin Brahmin family in the year 1958. He made his debut as a child artist at the tender age of four in a Marathi film called `Aa Majhe Marg Ekla` in the year 1962. He has made a mark in the Bollywood film industry as a child artist by appearing in as many as 65 films. Some of his other movies include `Jewel Thief`, `Brahmachari` and `Zimbo Ka Beta`. But he carved out a niche for himself in the hearts of the audience by his chocolate-boy image in the romantic flick `Geet Gata Chal`. He has also featured in a hugely successful Bhojpuri film `Nadiya Ke Paar` way back in 1982. The Hindi remake of this film `Hum Aapke Hain Kaun` went out to be a chartbuster in the history of Hindi films.

After proving his skills in the art of acting Sachin Pilgaonkar moved into the production circuit. The popular soap `Tu Tu Main Main` made him prominent as a producer. The serial ran for as long as eleven years. He proudly claims that `Tu Tu Main Main` was the first Hindi serial to be telecasted on the Star Plus channel. In fact this serial went to become so popular that at one point of time it secured as much as eight points on the TRP. He has also directed the serial `Kadvee Khatti Meethi` which is also a comedy based on the same story line of `Tu Tu Main Main`. In fact it is an extension of that serial.

He directed a show "Rin 1 2 3" on Hindi National channel Star-Plus, which showed parodies on Bollywood movies. He also directed the sitcom, Hudd Kar Di starring Dara Singh, which also was well. He anchored a Hindi music shows like Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari and various other events and Marathi film award ceremonies. In 2006, he with his wife, Supriya, won the Hindi dance Reality Show Nach Baliye

He appeared as a judge of reality comedy talent show, Chhote Miyan (2009) on Colors TV. He received National award of child artist for Ha maaza marg ekla and Ajab Tuje Sarkar.
