Sabu is amongst the most significant characters in Indian comics series titled Chacha Chaudhary. He is a 15 feet long alien from the planet Jupiter and a friend of Chacha.

Sabu, Characters in Indian Comics SeriesSabu is one of the most prominent characters in Indian comics series Chacha Chaudhary, published and distributed by Diamond Comics. The character was created by cartoonist Pran. The series Chacha Chaudhary is published in 10 major Indian languages like Hindi, as well as in English. It is perhaps the most popular Indian comics series and has sold around 10 million copies. Sabu is the sidekick and follower of Chacha Chaudhary, who is a feeble middle class elderly person but is extremely intelligent and witty. Sabu is an alien from the planet Jupiter and helps Chacha Chaudhary with physical strength when needed. Sabu is 15 feet tall and is immensely strong. He wears only briefs, a pair of gum-boots and a pair of ear-rings. The biggest enemy of Sabu is Raaka. Sabu, the giant friend and sidekick of Chacha Chaudhary, accompanies him in his walks where they encounter various interesting people and bad guys.

Sabu is actually an alien creature from outer space, who became determined to live in planet Earth along with his friend Chacha Chaudhary, after he tasted the delicious foods, particularly, paratha and halwa, cooked by the wife of Chacha, during his vacation to earth. Sabu is very loyal and faithful the title character of the series and helps him with brute physical strength when there is any danger or in times of need. Sabu is very tall and is around 15 feet in height. In some of the issues in Chacha Chaudhary comics, Sabu is shown to possess the ability to increase his height and size even further. His attire is minimal and comprises of wrestler`s briefs and a pair of gum-boots, along with ear-rings on both ears. Occasionally he was also seen wearing full pants, but with bare body. The pair of earrings worn by Sabu was gifted to him by his mother before he left planet Jupiter and came to earth. He also has a twin brother named Dabu.

According to the plot of the comics series, whenever Sabu gets furious, a volcano always erupts at some far-away location, which is portrayed in humorous manner. "Hu-Huba" is the catchphrase of Sabu, which he utters when he performs an act of immense strength. It is portrayed that Sabu consumes 108 Rotis (flat breads) in a single meal, along with 12 kg of Halwa (dessert) and almost 20 litres of Lassi (Butter milk drink). He is not married and is determined to remain single. Sabu is shown to contain a small sized brain and thus follows the instructions of Chacha Chaudhary diligently. Raka, an evil character in the series who is also the same size as Sabu, is his arch nemesis.
