The Royal Dental College (RDC) is a famous medical institution, located in the district of Palakkad, in Kerala. The college was established and is being run and managed by a Trust named the Royal Education Foundation. Formed by a team of socially committed professionals drawn from various fields, the trust is working with a vision to undertake various educational, social and cultural activities. The motto of the college is "Eurdito, Peritus, Altium", which means "Knowledge, Proficiency, Character". The college is striving hard to produce good dental practitioners in this institute. The staff members of the college are working relentlessly to inculcate these values in its students, as well.

Royal Dental College, Palakkad, KeralaThe Royal Dental College (RDC), Palakkad is working with a combination of academic excellence with priority to Discipline and the Knowledge towards the enhancement of Oral health. The college mainly offers the undergraduate course of Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) to the students of Kerala. The students are required to fulfill certain rules and regulations to get admitted in the BDS course in this college. The candidates are required to have passed the Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or equivalent thereto, to get admission in BDS. They should pass the examination with at least 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Apart from that, the students who have secured 50% marks in the medical entrance examination (paper I and II taken together) will be considered for admission into the BDS course. In case of the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC, the minimum required percentage of marks comes down to 40% marks in the medical entrance examination (paper I and II taken together).

The candidates having passed the B.Sc degree (three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry as main, and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, are considered eligible for admission in BDS Course in the RDC, Palakkad. The students are required to obtain at least 50% marks for the main and subsidiary subjects taken together. However, they are subject to the condition that they have passed higher secondary examinations, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with physics, chemistry and biology as optional subjects. The candidates coming from the socially and educationally backward classes get a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. However, for getting admitted in the BDS course, the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need only 40% marks in physics, chemistry and biology put together in the qualifying examination (as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India).

Apart from fulfilling the minimum required educational qualification requirements, the students are also required to be aged at least 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission in BDS course in RDC, Palakkad. The management of the Royal Dental College (RDC), Palakkad selects the students from the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks in the qualifying examination / entrance test conducted by Government/Consortium. The college has a large number of departments that are working relentlessly to provide the best dental education to the students. Some of the major departments include the department of Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial, Periodontics, Conservative, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, and the department of Pathology.
