Ronit Roy is an Indian film and television actor who is renowned for his portrayals of Mihir Virani, Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi, Aparajit Deb and Rishabh Bajaj. Currently he is being featured in the popular TV show "Adaalat" in the role of KD Pathak. Other than acting, he is also an entrepreneur and an owner of a security company which provides security to celebrities and production houses. Ronit Roy made his film debut in the 1992 with the film Jaan Tere Naam, which was a silver jubilee hit. He is often considered as the style icon of Indian television.
Early Life of Ronit Roy
Ronit Roy was born as Ronit Bose Roy on October 11th 1965, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. During his early twenties, Roy came to Mumbai to harbor his dreams of making into the Indian film industry. Initially he worked with veteran director Subhash Ghai. But after Ghai dissuaded him, Ronit Roy started working as a management trainee in Sea Rock hotel in Mumbai.
After his father`s death he left the job and again started working with Subhas Ghai as an Assistant director. Later he learned about editing, photography, script writing etc from Sanjiv Sharma and Mansoor Khan`s Pilot communication. He worked in several commercials as a model as well.
Career of Ronit Roy
Ronit Roy started his acting career with the films like Khatron Ke Khiladi in 1988 and Dushmanon Ka Dushman in 1984. But he made his debut as the leading male actor in the film Jaan Tere Naam in 1992. The film became widely successful and his performance was much appraised but he failed to achieve such success in his following films. However, Ronit Roy held his determination. His other films include 15 August, Sainik, Tehqiqaat, Bomb Blast, Megha, Army, Nishan, Kisna etc. Ronit Roy has also appeared in the Bengali film Bansodhar.
In 2010, Ronit Roy featured in the highly acclaimed film Udaan, as an intoxicating and abusive father. This got him many accolades from the critics and the viewers as well. His recent films are Pankh, The Girl in Yellow Boots, 2 States, Student of theYear, Midnights Children, Shootout at Wadala, Boss, Kaabil etc and as per the reports his upcoming movies are Saat Kadam and Machine. People will also see him soon in Ram Gopal Varma"s upcoming venture Sarkaar 3 where he will share the screen with Manoj Bajpai, Amitabh Bacchan, Yami Gautam, Rohini Hattangadi and Bharat Dabholkar.
Although he got only moderate success in films, Ronit Roy`s acting skills were hugely appreciated in the small screen also. He became popular for various roles that he portrayed on television and has been featured in numerous serials and shows, such as, Vikral aur Gabraal, Suraag, Ssssh... He had also appeared in Koffee with Karan Season 2 as a guest in the year of 2007 and in a famous comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2013.

Ronit Roy`s security service company named Ace Security and Protection is one of the foremost security company in the country which provides service to various celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Salman Khan along with Indian Premier League ex-Chairman and ex-Commissioner Lalit Modi and his son Ruchir Modi.
Some of the movie projects that Ace Security and Protection have also lent their services to are Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai, Yaadein, Na Tum Jano Na Hum, Saathiya, and Armaan.

Ronit Roy has been honored with a number of awards for his work on television such as HITA, Indian Telly awards. For his role in the film Udaan (2010), Roy received the Zee Cine Awards and Star Screen Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role. He was also bestowed with the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award and The Global Indian Film and Television award for Udaan. Apart from that he has received many television awards like Zee Gold Award for Bandhini, Star Guild Award for Itna Karo na pyaar Mujhse and Star Screen Award for Guddu Rangeela.

Ronit Roy got married to Neelam Singh in the year 2003 and blessed with three children- two daughters and one son.
