Robber"s Cave in Uttarakhand is a natural cave formation where rivers flow inside the cave. It is locally known as "Guchhu Paani" and is known for its pristine beauty. It is basically 2 hillocks on the sides and a stream flowing in between. The place is a popular tourist spot and is now being maintained by Uttarakhand State. It is one of the fascinating spots to visit in Dehradun. Vacationers rush here for day picnics, journeys and trekking.
Structure of Robber"s Cave
Robber"s Cave is actually a space between 2 huge rocks which extend for around 600 meters inside and opens into a wide area. The cave is a natural cave formed on an extremely narrow gorge in a limestone area. The passage is not covered and once can see the sky throughout. A crystal clear stream flows in this passage which is calf deep in some places. The passage narrows down to about 6-7 ft in some places in width. There is a small waterfall at the end of the cave.
Visiting Information of Robber"s Cave
Robber"s Cave is about 8-10 kms from Dehradun Railway Station and local bus services are available up to Anarwala Village, from there visitors have to walk for about a kilometre to reach this location.
