Rishimukh peak anticipates some portions of the epic Ramayana. According to mythology, Lord Rama and Lakshmana met Hanuman for the first time in this place. It is also considered to be the temporary abode of Lord Rama, when he went to Lanka to save his wife Sita from Ravana. Rishimukh was the part of Sugriva"s kingdom.
