Located on the borders of India and Bangladesh, the small town of Ranikor is a popular place of tourism in the West Khasi Hills district of the state of Meghalaya. An angler"s paradise, Ranikor lies in close proximity to the confluence of Rilang and Kynshi Rivers, where anglers can gather around and enjoy fishing like the golden mahseer and freshwater fishes like the carp.

Besides angling, the place of Ranikor is also known for its large variety of avifauna which often migrates in this region. While it is difficult to trace the flying kites which fly over the green mountains of north eastern India, in Ranikor there are other species of birds like kingfishers, lapwings and sunbirds which migrate to the region from far off places.

Tourists are further attracted to this place because of the annual festival, which unifies people and also tends to draw tourists from beyond the border, from Bangladesh. The festivities last for two days and include boating, beach volleyball, kite flying, and games for children and cultural events followed by musical performances.
