It was established in the year 1964. It can also be defined as a memorial built in honor of Queen Durgavati. Queen Durgavati is known to be a symbol of martyrdom and self-sacrifice of her time. To present the valor and pride of this queen, a stone replica of Goddess Durga has been constructed inside this museum.

This museum has a collection of exquisite 110th centuries sculptures garnered from local sites. Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati are depicted in the museum in red sandstone. Their replica will be evident as engaged in a game of Chausar. This replica is considered to be the most popular attraction of the museum. A statue of Goddess Durga is also housed in the museum. It is known to be collected from a place called Doni. A replica of Goddess Saraswati in the museum is known to be made using sandstone. An idol of Goddess named Yogini is also a relic of the Rani Durgawati Museum. This museum has a separate section to house the relics related to India"s Father of Nation, Mahatama Gandhi. These relics comprise the letters and pictures of Mahatama Gandhi.
