Randhir Singh
Randhir Singh of Bharatpur was a Maharaja of the princely state, who ruled from the year 1805 to 1823. He took several efforts to improve the state administration.

Randhir Singh, Ruler of BharatpurRandhir Singh of Bharatpur was a prominent ruler or Maharaja of the princely state of Bharatpur, which was founded by Maharaja Suraj Mal in the year 1733. At present it is located in the Brij region in the state of Rajasthan. The princely state of Bharatpur belonged to the Rajputana Agency. Randhir Singh succeeded his father Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Bharatpur after his death in December 1805 and ascended the royal throne or gadi. He reigned over the territory from the year 1805 to 1823. The Maharaja of the princely state was born in the year 1805 and belonged to the Sinsiniwar Jat dynasty. Randhir Singh ruled over the princely state of Bharatpur under regency as he was still a minor at the time of his ascension. He was invested with full ruling powers after he reached the age of majority.

Maharaja Randhir Singh of Bharatpur took several efforts to improve the condition of his territory and develop the state administration. The eminent ruler abolished the enormous army, which created conflict and turmoil; and the rebels as well, as a result of delay in payment of salaries. This was done in order to reduce taxes in the princely state and to maintain peace. He also supported the British East India Company the British rule in India to decrease the dread of the Pindaris.

Randhir Singh of Bharatpur was a progressive ruler and implemented various measures for the advancement of the state and the betterment of his subjects and the over all society. Several schools and educational institutes were set up and medical facilities were also established for the people of the state. The well known and much respected Maharaja ruled over the princely state for an extended period of 18 years with vision and harmony.

Randhir Singh built the Chhatri and Palace in remembrance of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, his father who ruled over the princely state of Bharatpur from the year 1776 to 1805. Randhir Singh of Bharatpur had no male child and eventually died in the year 1823. He was succeeded by Baldeo Singh, his brother, who ascended the throne as the Maharaja of Bharatpur and ruled over the region from 1823 to 1825
