Jhunjhunwala College came into existence in 1963 through the efforts of Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, set up by Nand Kishor Singh Jairamji, a former postman who had served the military in World War-1. When Jairamji returned home safely from the war, he decided to dedicate his life to the benefit of mankind. Hence, he with the help from residents of Ghatkopar started the Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti.
