Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College, Ghatkopar, MumbaiJhunjhunwala College came into existence in 1963 through the efforts of Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, set up by Nand Kishor Singh Jairamji, a former postman who had served the military in World War-1. When Jairamji returned home safely from the war, he decided to dedicate his life to the benefit of mankind. Hence, he with the help from residents of Ghatkopar started the Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti. His relentless efforts touched the heart of several industrialists that included Shri Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala who donated a huge sum of money for the development of the College.

USP of the college:
The library here has about 56,000 books and 1,500 books added every year. It also has a counseling center. The college publishes a newspaper called `Harmony` . The college also has several students associations such as: English Literary Associations, Hindi Sahitya Parishad and Kannad Sangha.
