Beginning from the modest area of Darya Ganj in Old Delhi, the College presently has an excellent infrastructure with an airy campus, and also a team of respected faculty of teachers who have had the experience of teaching at principal universities in India as well as abroad. Presently it is located in University Enclave, Delhi - 110 007.

Ramjas College believes in imparting holistic teaching that goes beyond educational merit and professional training. Their motto is to understand the overall development of students in every aspect, be it intellectual, creative, cultural and socio-political. Irrespective of gender, caste, religion and physical challenges, Ramjas College admits all students, thereby making the college community quite enriched and a varied one.

The College Library is a prestigious one, with an `online cataloguing system` which facilitates nationwide connection. Books are coded through relevant software and can be smoothly accessed via computers within the library and other departments also. Moreover the students and teachers can also get free and ready accessibility to the Internet, thereby helping them in conducting research works.

The Ramjas College has a high-tech seminar room with multi-media facilities and LCD project systems. Extensive courses, excellent extra-curricular activities and technologically advanced facilities are available to the students. In every step they are being motivated to move a step ahead beyond the confinements of educational and managerial disciplines and to explore and develop wide interests about the happenings of the daily world.

Ramjas College comprises fifteen departments, namely Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Zoology and Sanskrit. Ramjas College admits students to pursue variety of courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. B.A. (Hons.) Courses in subjects like English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political Science, Music, Maths are offered. One also can pursue B.A. (Prog.) Courses, B.Sc (Prog.) Courses, B.Com (Prog.) Courses also. For science students B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics are taught.

Post-Graduate Courses include M.A. in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research and Music. M.Sc is taught in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research, M Com is also included in the college curriculum. Ramjas College offers short-term add-on courses for supplementing learning in various disciplines like art, culture, science and awareness building programmes. The Certificate Courses include- Peace and Conflict Resolution, India in the Era of Globalisation, Human Rights Studies, Environmental Management and Law, Communication and Self Development, Gender: Analysis And Interrogation, Women and Empowerment, Indian Literatures: Many Voices Within, Film Appreciation, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics - Future of Biological Research, Mathematical Skills and Everyday Life Problems, Introduction to risk management and insurance, Interest Theory, Statistical Programming, Advanced statistical topics relevant to actuarial science, Forensic Science (Fingerprints and Document Examination), Mass Media Ethics Studies, Development of Entrepreneurship Excellence, Psychological Assessment, Psychological Counselling, Self Awareness for Success, Intellectual Property Rights, Capital Market Programme, Emotional Management-Techniques of mind control. Tomorrow Today Club organises multiple workshops for spreading consciousness about current happenings like `global warming, biotechnology, renewable resources of energy, bio-fuels, nano-technology, rainwater harvesting` and so on.

Quite a handful of clubs is also present in Ramjas College with specific objectives to be fulfilled. Media Watch Club, Nature Club, Photography Club, Info Technology Edge Club, Hiking and Trekking Club, Film and Movies Club, Nanotech Club deserve mention.

Besides academic achievements, Ramjas College encourages students to display their creative and cultural aspirations. The Extra Curricular Activities Committee (ECAC), provides such a platform by forming several societies, each controlled and supervised by the students` body, the teachers playing a consultatory role.

Backbeat, the Music Society encompasses expert singers and musicians. The College Band `Zingaro` has also performed in All India Radio and Delhi Doordarshan. Very recently, The Choreography Society was established and operates as a unit of Backbeat.

Shunya , the Dramatics Society performs stage and street plays which are quite popular within the classy public. The Literary Society `Expressions`, has individual literary and debating sections. The Literary Society organises prose reading and recitation sessions, boosting authors, poets and writers. It publishes a wall magazine and also a journal called `The Flowing Quill`. Writers` Club of this society also is pretty active. They meet on a regular basis and has formed a blog which has become a forum for displaying their creative acumen. Vibgyor is the Fine Arts Society of Ramjas College which provides a platform to artists and craftsmen.

Each of these societies of the Extra Curricular Activities Committee, organise competitive and various joyful events and fests. The societies also arrange seminars where experts are invited to put forward their comments and criticism.

Ramjas College has a Women`s Development Cell, organising several activities associated to Women`s studies and empowerment. There is also a Ramjas College Gender Forum, for addressing several gender issues.

The Students` Union, the leading organisation within the College, has been established to cultivate leadership qualities and also to nurture public talking, association, eloquence and activity among students.

The placement cell of Ramjas College is working to bring home potential employers in an effort to insure that the students can get multiple employment chances in diverse fields like Human Resource, Business, Sales, Marketing, Entertainment industry, Media, Business and Knowledge Processing Associations and Creative Arts field. Arrangements are made so that students can undertake summer internships to learn and understand the way the actual business and trading are carried out.

Another landmark of Ramjas College is its Center for International Education, which at present conducts a programme in Denmark jointly with Denmark`s International Study Program (DIS), Copenhagen. Special student exchanging programme also is done with the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. The Ramjas College also has an exchange programme with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Perceiving the reality that familiarity of a foreign language will enhance job opportunities and education, The School of Foreign Languages was formed within the premises of Ramjas College in 2004.
