Ram Naresh Yadav is a prominent political figure designated as the Governor of Chhattisgarh. Since the year 1977 to 1979 he served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Previously he represented the Indian political party Bharatiya Janata Party but later joined the Congress. Previously he served as the Governor of another central Indian state Madhya Pradesh.

Ram Naresh Yadav was born on 1st July 1928 at a village named Andhipur in Azamgarh in the Indian state Uttar Pradesh to a middle class family. His father was a teacher. Ram Naresh Yadav previously worked as a successful lawyer in Azamgarh court.
Career of Ram Naresh Yadav
Ram Naresh Yadav has always been interested in social work and the socialist leader Raj Narain was his close acquaintance. In the year 1977 he stepped in the 6th Lok Sabha as a representative of Azamgarh constituency. Ram Naresh Yadav is famed as a modest and a low profile politician. On 23rd June 1977 he was designated as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He served as the same till 28th February 1979. He failed to secure a vote of confidence on 25th February 1979 and consequently Banarsi Das replaced him as the Chief Minister. He represented the Azamgarh constituency on Indian National Congress ticket in the general elections of the year 2004. Ram Naresh Yadav was appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh on 26th August 2011 by then President of India, Pratibha Patil. However on 19th June 2014 he was designated as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
