Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag  , Indian movieRam Gopal Varma ki Aag the most awaited film of the year is the remake of Ramesh Sippy`s 1975 blockbuster Sholay .The film is directed as well as produced by Ram Gopal Varma who has transformed the original completely by transporting the setting from the pastoral Chambal valley to the hustle and bustle of city life. The music has been arranged by a number of composer: Amar Mohile ,Prasanna Shekhar ,Ganesh Hegde and Nitin Raikwar.

The cast of the movie is an interesting one .To begin with Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of the notorious dacoit Gabbar Singh ,the role played by Amjad Khan in the original movie. Ajay Devgan essays Dharmendar`s role i.e. Veeru while Jai which was played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original has newcomer Prashant Raj playing the role. Sushmita Sen is the widow Radha which was essayed by Jaya Bachchan in the original and Nisha Kothari is the new age Basanti which was played by dream girl Hema Malini .The memorable character of Thakur which was played by Sanjeev Kumar in the original is played by Mohanlal who plays the role of an honest police inspector in the new film.

Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag  , Indian movieThe film revolves around nihilistic new leader Babban (Amitabh Bachchan) who is an underworld don .He is cruel beyond imagination, violent and brutal than any gangster the city has ever known. Tambhe played by Sushant Singh is Babban`s key henchmen. None has seen Babban and anyone who has seen Babban did not survive to tell the story. Inspector Narasimha(Mohanlal) is an encounter specialist lives with only one ambition to finish Babban and his gundaaraj.Raj Ranade (Prashant Raj)and Hirendra Chavan (Ajay Devgan)come from Latur to Mumbai to fulfill their dreams in Mumbai . Soorma an old acquaintance who runs a dance bar gives Heero and Raj work with Shambhulal Seth ,a criminal with underworld connections and also on the demand list of the police.

In pursuit of Sambhulal ,Inspector Narsimha meets Heero and Raj whose honesty and deep values appeal to Mohanlal .Narasimha brings out the criminal past of Sambhulal and Heero and Raj are arrested for their association with the criminal .Much later in order to arrest Baaban ,Mohanlal takes the help of Heero and Raj and how they finally succeed is the crux of the story . In the city Heero and Raj also find their respective love interest. Hirendra falls for Ghungroo (Nisha Kothari) who is an auto driver in the city and has named her rickshaw Laila and treats it like her best friend. She is the only woman rickshaw driver and knows all the shortcut .She is garrulous in nature and her constant talks is enjoyed by Hirendra . Raj is attracted to Durga (Sushmita Sen), a trained nurse. Durga has immense inner strength and a reserved personality unlike Ghungroo. She is clad in black in the entire film and speaks very less.

Most of the actors are powerful performers and Varma is a seasoned director and so the movie is rated very high. The look of every character is designed keeping in mind the modern requirements.
