The hugely popular comedian actor Rakesh Bedi has harbored his love for acting and theatre since a very tender age. He is the very funny own man of the small screen. He also has a substantial fan following among the people who loves watching theater shows. One actually cannot regard him as the regular star spangled celebrity of the telly world but he has his self-made corner in the hearts of the audiences. In fact he manages to make all occasions light. He had a huge interest in the acting since his days of childhood where he participated in various dramas as well. He would even rehearse for plays even during the sessions of his exams which would in fact create disappointment in the hearts of his parents. But such was his growing passion for acting that when he had let his parents know that he would join the arena of acting they encouraged him and advised him to join a theater group which was quite renowned. Soon after getting trained he started his own theater group. Side by side he also did a lot of plays before joining the Film and Television Institute in Pune ultimately.
Rakesh Bedi has proved his mettle in being an actor who is extremely well versed in comic roles in hugely popular shows like `Basera`, `Guniraam`, `Yeh Duniya Gazab ki`, `Tara`, `Kane Bhi Do Paro` and `Hum Sab Ek Hain`. He has also gained appreciation for his roles in a number of Bollywood flicks. He first got a break in the ventures of Bollywood by starring in the film called `Ahsaas` by G.P.Sippy. Soon after he has worked in Bollywood chartbusters like `Ek Dujhe Ke Liye`. After that he also acted in other superhit films like `Dil Hain Ki Manta Nahin`, `Aashiq awara`, `Chamatkaar`, `Phir Hera Pheri`, `Tiranga` and `Tom Dick and Harry`. Altogether he has to his credit a score of Hindi movies amounting to a whopping number of 130. Very few people know that Rakesh Bedi is also an Urdu poet. He shares a high passion for the language of Urdu. But as of now he is keeping this chapter of his under wraps. He plans to open up this later in his life and also love to see his creations get published in a book. He is also recently working on his new play called `Massage`. While speaking on this in a recent interview he claimed that, "This play will definitely prove to be a milestone in Indian theater". He has done the Hindi adaptation of the play and also states that it took him nine months of rehearsals to get the play on stage. As of now he would like to stay focused on his acting career and his fans also wish him good luck and happiness for his future endeavors.
